Dear Texture Clothing,

I have just returned from spending a month in Guatemala and I wanted to let you know how absolutely essential my Texture items proved to be. My knit mitts were a necessity during my early morning Spanish classes in Xela. They kept my hands warm enough to conjugate endless verbs daily in the surprisingly chilly mountain town where we were studying, and also provided some support to keep my carpal tunnel-plagued wrists happy and functional. And my fuchsia comfy skirt would have been the daily uniform had doing laundry not been an eventual necessity. It was perfect for the changing temperatures and travel activities, and the hidden pocket in the front gave my travels a greater sense of security and freedom. While my travel companions were constantly trying to determine the safest way to store their essential items, I felt so confident that it was unlikely anyone would try to lift my cash or passport from a hidden pocket near my crotch. I even taught a yoga class in the skirt.

And to think I almost didn’t pack these items because I love them so much I didn’t want to ruin them in the travel process! Next international trip I am acquiring at least three more skirts!

Dear Teresa and Texture Clothing,

I just wanted to let all of you know how much I ADORE my texture clothing. Last summer I made the decision to revamp my entire wardrobe and wear clothing I not only felt good wearing but also felt good about purchasing. I found you, and the rest is history. Five jar dresses, eleven comfy skirts, two pairs of knit-mitts, and three pairs of posh pants later, I am living in and loving my clothes for the first time in years. Instead of whining about having “nothing to wear” I face a closet with beautiful items which make it it difficult to decide WHAT to wear.

I am a high school English teacher, so my clothing needs to be professional as well as practical–my texture clothes fit the bill, and when I have teenage girls who are constantly complimenting me on my skirts and posh pants, I know I am on to something. No matter where I go in my texture clothes I am always complimented and asked where I find such lovely, flattering clothes. I am proud to share your company’s information with whoever wants to know. I want others to feel and look as wonderful as I do.

I am forty-three years old and haven’t felt this gorgeous in my clothing in a long time. I haven’t lost weight or had a make-over. I simply purchased your clothing, and I feel and look beautiful. Your lovingly made clothing and respect for women of all shapes and sizes is evident– I am so glad I found you.

some of you may recall hearing about our epic flood a while back. we got back on our feet pretty quick but our poor floor was done in. we’re getting a shiny new one that looks almost exactly like the old one, but it means that our shop is all torn up while they put it in. we thought we were only going to be closed two days, but now it’s looking like a longer affair. we’ll update the blog and our facebook again when the shop is open, and we appreciate your patience.

it’s no secret that the ladies love our knit mitts, but we also have a second size that fit our bigger fellows. guys tend to be more squeamish around cameras, but dylan (one of the innate boys from across the street) and his buddy thompson helped us finally get some new pictures.

::all the things i’m thankful for (just in case you were wondering…) :: my mom + dad, my brother, team texture (emily, rebekah, elizabeth, oso, trevor, hedi, thiep, heather, kate, kim + sophea), traveling to follow the sun, the smell of coffee in the morning, fresh warm peaches, being surrounded by people who love and support me, bartering with fellow artisans, certain combinations of warm colours (burgundy, rusty orange + dijon), and cool tones (eggplant, indigo + green tea), laughing loudly with friends, being part of a community…

i’m just going to keep adding to this. it’s a good practice.
