this is my textile journal. because i am textile nerd. here you can see into my world and my work.
please note that a ‘thorn in my side’ is that i tend to see the end result and i don’t process as much as i could. and so, i sketch and put colours together, and i have my own process, which i will gladly embrace and enjoy.
colour and i have a passionate relationship together. it often shocks me when people aren’t as perceptive as i am…because it has been my way of life since i can remember (since my parents let me paint my bedroom pink and then let me paint a mural all over my walls…). there are certain colour combinations that are very ‘me’. and when people walk into my market booth or my shop, they often comment that they like the colours…that they feel cozy.
another note (if you will) is that i make clothing because i like to work with textiles. it is a practical way of selling my creations.
working with textiles is in every cell of my body. i was “knit together in my mother’s womb” psalm 139. i am grateful to have the right brain:left brain balance to do what i love and make a living with my talent.
